Maria Duval - Peace: One Person at a Time

Peace: One Person at a Time
Consider the words of the first Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces during World War II, Five-Star General Dwight David Eisenhower: I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.

Step to the Right for Peace
This is a presentation by neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor, who had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. Most importantly, this is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.

Religion and Peace
I would call myself an omnireligionist despite being an ordained minister with a doctorate in divinity. Translation: I don’t really care what you believe, I care that you believe. I believe that belief is a deeply personal matter and that it’s up to each soul to discover what works for her or him. That said, Professor Breger’s ideas about diplomacy and religion delighted me.

What is Deeksha (oneness Blessing)
Deeksha or oneness blessing is given in the spirit and compassion of the Deeksha giver. Deeksha in saskrit means initiation or benediction. Everything that the physical world embodies, when perceived by the five senses, testifies to the fact we are in constant state of separation with self. The physical world represents a sacrifice of oneness. Everything simply is what it is. There are so many different states of experiencing this as there are people.

Spiritual Enlightenment and the Use of Affirmations
What are affirmations? There more than just colorful mantras you know. Whether you realize it or not there ’s never a moment in your life in which you are not using affirmations, which may either be to your detriment or benefit. So why not learn to make them work to your benefit.

Forgiveness: a Key to Peace of Mind
Forgiveness plays an important role in human relationship. Forgiveness is an act of pardon, or show of compassion; it emanates from the offended or a victim of an abuse or injustice. Forgiveness is dependent upon an act of repentance or remorse exhibited by the offender. Apart from peace of mind, other benefits of forgiveness include being at peace with God. Some behaviours that can enhance forgiveness are love, and truthfulness among others.

Peace Like a Bar of Soap
"Here’s what I say: Until peace is as everyday an assumption as soap, we have to keep making the effort to remember it. Oh yeah, we’ll say, there’s always peace. As quotidian and assumptive as the presence of soap."

Complementary Peace(s)
I may as well cop to my not-so-hidden agenda. I am here on earth to help create peace. I've been working with personal peace for a long time. Peace is my mission, my passion, my fun.

An Induction to Analyse Tarot Cards
Tarot card divination may not be a real science; it might not be as accurate as some members of public would like to believe, but the market for tarot is ever growing through the availability of readings online and in other similar mediums.
