Climbing out "beanstalk" without fear

I am sure you have heard of this story called "Jack and the Beanstalk". It had left a poignant mark in my young mind and I always imagined where the beanstalk could lead too in the "heaven" and whether there was a Giant up there hiding in the sky.

On a deeper thought, the fairytale proves to be an inspirational account of how Jack wanted something to help his family so much that he displayed couraged and wits to overcome the Giant. Of course Jack had the luck to be helped by the Giant's wife twice. Controversially, some argued that the story was unethical was it was about a story of greed. Well, it sort of as Jack was somewhat greedy to go up for the third time when he already had the gold coins and the hen that laid golden eggs. But I'll prefer to look at it at the "courage" point of view.

There was a strong spirit to want something badly that made Jack went through the dangers. Isn't life the same? To get something in life, we have to brave the uncertainties and dangers to achieve it. Yet we need to maintain the direction of what we want. When we have what we want in life, we help our loved ones to have a better life.

Imagine the intense anxiety and helplessness when Jack was climbing as he knew what he would meet ahead or what he would discover once he arrived at his destination, but his determination was not swayed by fear. He continued to strive on. Even when he came face to face with the Giant, he did not allow that huge obstacle to stop him. He had a PURPOSE.

We need to maintain our motivation when we are facing difficult time. I know it is just too easy to throw in the towels in such situations. I myself have done it many times in life and when I look back, I wish I had persisted on to see how it would turn out. Maria Duval advises us to keep motivated on times of challenges as that is one of the factors of successes. And, once we hit our stride, keeping the momentum will become much easier.

So let us all use a little magic to get us started on the climb upward to our destiny or to pick us up and set us back on track. There are treasures waiting for us ahead if we persist on.
